James Davis BSc(Hons) MBBS PGDip(Biomech) FRCS(Eng) FRCS(Tr + Orth)
James Davis graduated from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1990 and completed General Surgical training in London. His specialist Orthopaedic training was in the South Thames (West) Region.
Mr Davis was fellowship trained at the University of Johns Hopkins, Baltimore, USA. Mr Davis gained his FRCS (Tr and Orth) accreditation in 2000 and in 2001 was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Torbay Hospital.
Mr Davis started a specialist foot and ankle service in South Devon and runs the South West Foot and Ankle Centre. Mr Davis has gained extensive experience in the whole spectrum of adult foot and ankle disorders and runs a single-handed non union and lower limb deformity correction service.
Mr Davis is academically very active He is an Orthopaedic examiner for the Royal Colleges of Surgery and has been appointed to the education committee of the British Foot and Ankle Society. He was an invited speaker at the annual British Orthopaedic Association meeting, and has lectured Internationally.
Mr Davis has published on foot and ankle surgery and is a reviewer for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery the premier peer reviewed journal of Orthopaedics in Great Britain.

Richard Seymour MB BChir MA MRCP FRCR - (Radiologist)
Richard Seymour obtained an open scholarship to Cambridge University for his pre-clinical studies, followed by clinical undergraduate training at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. After general medical training in London and on the Northwick Park rotation he moved to South Wales for his radiological training. This comprised experience in general and interventional radiology with subspecialty training in musculoskeletal imaging, including a fellowship attachment at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham.
Dr Seymour was appointed as a consultant at Torbay Hospital in 1997. He has published widely and has a busy clinical practice in all fields of musculoskeletal radiology, including reporting plain films, MRI, CT and Ultrasound and performing image-guided injections and biopsies.
He also has an interest in service development and redesign and is a National Clinical Lead in radiology service improvement.

Michelle Giles MSc - (Podiatrist)
Michelle graduated from the University of Plymouth in 1997 with a BSc(Hons) in Podiatry. Michelle furthered her studies in Podiatry and gained an MSc In clinical podiatric biomechanics from Staffordshire University in 2007
In 2007
Michelle has worked in the NHS for 12 years and in private practice for 9 years and has specialised solely in biomechanics for the past 8 years, she is clinical lead in biomechanics for Torbay Care Trust.
Michelle works part time for the MOD treating Army, Navy and RAF Personnel with various lower extremity musculoskeletal problems & sports injuries frequently requiring orthotic therapy.
Michelle treats patients of all ages and has a special interest in footwear biomechanics and running injuries being part of the Exeter Biomechanics Research Group at Exeter University where she gives lectures on podiatric biomechanics to MSc students. The title of Michelle's MSc dissertation is, "The influence of motion-control running shoes on pressure distribution and selected lower-limb kinematics of recreational runners who over-pronate." This is being written for future publication.

Patrick Loxdale
Patrick Loxdale has worked in Devon as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon since 1998.
He specialises in both Foot and Ankle and Knee surgery, and divides his working life between Plymouth and Torbay.
In addition to both NHS and Private Practice, he provides specialist orthopaedic advice to both Plymouth Argyle Football Club and Plymouth Albion Rugby Club. He has a particular interest in day case surgery, and has pioneered a number of day case procedures in the Southwest.
